The Mothers Union
The Mothers Union is especially concerned
with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian
family life. Its aim is the advancement of the Christian religion
in the sphere of marriage and family life.
At Holy Saviour the MU branch meets the second Wednesday of
the month in the Church Hall at 7.30pm.
The programme is varied as are the members. This year we have
had visiting speakers, a bring and buy stall and a summer outing.

Service – Sundays 9.30 a.m.
The Choir currently comprises some 22 members,
adults and children, who sing a regular weekly Eucharist, with
additional festival services and concerts throughout the year.

Since then, the choir has welcomed new members, currently numbering 21 singers, and enjoys singing a wide repertoire of sacred and secular music. Rehearsals are in church on Monday evenings at 7.30 p.m., and we are always keen to welcome new singers.

also have toilet facilities in the Hall.
Children's Group
A Children's group meets in the hall from 9.25am during term-time (except the first Sunday of the month) for children aged 4 upwards. We aim to learn about the Christian faith in an enjoyable way. Children take part in storytelling, singing, prayer, drama, and craft. They join the congregation in church for the second half of the service.
Family Services
Family Services are held on the first Sunday
of the month at 11.15am. These services are suitable for all
age groups. Children from Beavers, Cubs, Brownies, Guides and
Sunday School are involved in the services, welcoming people,
reading, leading prayers, drama and singing. The services last
30 to 40 minutes and include a short talk involving an activity,
drama or visual aids, and a variety of music.
Family Communion Services with hymns are held on the third Sunday
of the month at 11.15am. These services are also suitable for all
age groups.
Baptism and Confirmation
Parents enquiring about Baptism should contact
Church House. Baptisms are normally held at 11.15am and occasionally
during the 9.30am service. The Parish
of Hitchin is currently exploring children receiving communion
from the age of 7, following a programme of preparation. A Confirmation
Service is held each year in the Parish. Confirmation classes
are held in the summer and autumn. Adults or young people interested
in being Confirmed are invited to register in the spring.
